Shining a Light on Who Jesus Really Is
We’re thrilled that you’re considering Emmanuel Seventh‑day Adventist Church as the place for your child to experience a powerful, joy‑filled week at Illumination Station VBS. From June 1st through June 5th, children ages 5–14 will explore what Scripture reveals about who Jesus really is — not just who culture says He might be. This year’s theme invites kids to step out of the confusion of the world and into the clarity of God’s truth as they discover that Jesus is the Light who brings hope to every heart.
Throughout the week, children will learn how light brightens, illuminates, reveals, and guides — and how Jesus does the same in our lives. They’ll experience hands‑on Bible learning, worship, games, crafts, and interactive activities that help them understand Jesus’ question to His disciples: “Who do you say that I am?” By the end of the week, kids will see that Jesus is exactly who Scripture declares Him to be: the perfect, proven, powerful Son of God.
Multi‑Age Crews: Learning and Growing Together
Just like last year, children will participate in mixed‑age Crews, a model that has blessed millions of kids across the country. Crews include children ages 5–14 and are led by caring adults and teens who love children and love the Lord. This approach creates a family‑style environment where every child can shine.
Kids build new friendships. Children naturally learn and play well across age groups. Crews give them the chance to meet new friends, work together, and support one another.
Older kids shine as leaders. Older children often thrive in their role as helpers and encouragers. They gain confidence as they guide younger Crew members and model Christlike character.
Younger kids feel supported and loved. With older Crew members cheering them on, younger children feel safe, valued, and included in every activity.
Bible lessons become unforgettable. Instead of worksheets or traditional classroom methods, kids experience Scripture through hands‑on activities, worship, and small‑group discussions that help them apply God’s truth to their everyday lives.
A Special Celebration: VBS Takeover Sabbath
On June 6th, our children will lead the entire worship service in a special VBS Takeover Sabbath. Families will get to see what their children have learned, hear them share Scripture and songs, and celebrate the light of Jesus shining through them.
